Kingston University with their recognized Worldwide Early Years specialists, project managed the contents, lesson plans and activities. They created the curriculum structure and touchstone principles. In 2009 London Transport Museum opened an exhibition which explored the role London's transport system has had on the growth of the city. The exhibition, Suburbia, was a huge success and allowed the Museum's community learning team to work with young people across London's suburbs, asking them what they think of suburbia today. This film documents the result of a partnership between Studio-K (Kingston University's Illustration and Animation Outreach), Discover Young Hackney Festival, The House of Illustration, and ELCAF (East London Comics and Arts Festival). Working with students from Stoke Newington School, students were asked to work in collaboration with each other, and build up a city from a multitude of images through screenprinting. The workshop taught the basics of screenprinting, both on paper and tshirts, and encouraged thinking about design in a shared collaborative way. The Kingston Charitable Trust was launched in February 2007 as an initiative of Kingston City Council in partnership with the Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation. It aims to raise much-needed funds to help charitable organisations that support people living in Kingston. It does this by encouraging tax deductible donations, gifts and bequests. Each year the Trust earns income (in the form of interest) which can then be made available to the community in the form of grants. Trust Grants aim to support charitable organisations that meet community needs, make the community stronger and more connected, and complement Council's activities in the community
